Islamic Finance 101

Assalamu Alaykum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu,

Mufti Abdullah Al-Mahmudi will be conducting weekly lessons on the chapter of Business and Economics of Sahih al-Bukhari.

Imam Bukhari (Rahimahullah) has narrated approximately 500 Ahadith on commerce with incidents of dealings of the Sahabah (Radhi Allahu Anhum) and he has deduced many rulings related to dealings.

When listening to these Ahadith and the dealings of the Sahabah and relating them to contemporary issues of Islamic Finance, Business and Economics, one will be amazed at the depth and beauty of Islamic Finance, Business and Economics.

It will be more amazing to observe how contemporary business issues such as short sales, credit cards, bonus points, forward transactions, credit transactions, Islamic law of contracts, repossessions, intellectual property and much more are already referred to in the Ahadith mentioned by our Beloved Rasulullah (Salallahu alayhi wasallam) 1500 years ago.

Such lessons will serve to strengthen our understanding on Islamic Economics, strengthen our Imaan, and inspire us to redirect our dealings in accordance to Shariah.

The Ahadith will be presented in a simplified form. This program will be useful to students, accountants, investors, lawyers, professionals, and the general public.
